Sant Josep is Ibiza’s largest municipality by area, stretching across the entire southwest of the island. It’s home to Es Vedrà, the striking rock formation wrapped in countless legends, as well as the Ses Salines salt flats, a wetland that forms part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and still produces salt using traditional methods today.
The municipality also includes some of the island’s best-known beaches: Platja d’en Bossa with its dense strip of clubs, the quieter Cala Jondal, and the chain of coves along the west coast around Cala Comte.
The village of Sant Josep itself sits quietly inland, centred on a plain, whitewashed church.
