If you’re in Eivissa during the annual Festes de la Terra celebrations, you can catch a public presentation on the historic maritime quarters sitting directly below the fortified Dalt Vila. Professor Rosa Vallés will give a lecture titled “Els barris de la Marina i sa Penya de sa ciutat d’Eivissa” (The Neighborhoods of La Marina and Sa Penya in Ibiza Town). She will focus on the urban development and cultural background of these waterfront districts around the port.
Event Schedule and Access
Getting to hear her insights on the port’s history won’t require a ticket. The talk is set for the evening of August 6, 2026, taking place on the Dia de Sant Salvador. You will find the venue at Casino des Moll, located at Carrer de Barcelona 1 in Eivissa town, starting at 21:00.
Admission is free. But because space depends entirely on venue capacity, doors remain open to the public until the room fills up.
Organizers and Special Reception
That venue choice carries history of its own. Casino des Moll marks its centenary spanning from 1923 to 2023, hosting the talk as part of a joint initiative. The event comes together through a collaboration between the Arxiu Històric d’Eivissa i Formentera, the Sociedad Recreativa y Cultural Casino de Ibiza, Casino des Moll, and the Ajuntament d’Eivissa.
Once Professor Vallés finishes speaking, attendees can stay for a special reception. The Ajuntament d’Eivissa is providing traditional local food products from Can Vadell, a long-standing Eivissa establishment. So you can try local bites right after the presentation ends.
